Ice Trek Exploradores Glacier

FOR THE MOST AVENTUROUS!

This great mass of millenary ice extending from the Northern Ice Field descends from Mount San Valentín, the most beautiful and highest peak in Patagonia that you can possibly see on this tour. Located 52 km from Puerto Rio Tranquilo (to the West), it is accessed by a gravel road that connects with Exploradores Bay.

We start our journey contemplating waterfalls and powerful rivers that flow down from the glacier itself.  A valley created from this glacier, leaving lakes, rivers and at the same time rock formations, such as truncated spurs and erratic rocks that give us an account of its passage.

Then at kilometer 52 we will begin our trek through a luscious evergreen forest that leads us to the moraine, passing rocks dragged by the same glacier, until we reach clean ice, where we will walk on Exploradores Glacier and visit caves (natural formations made by the erosion of the wind, and water). We will walk approximately 6 hours, (round trip) and 11 kilometers, with strategic stops for photographs or whenever one of our passengers needs it.
